Fort Stockton, Texas

We only stayed three nights in Fort Stockton. We were able to visit the Fort and see a few buildings open to the public, the barracks; guard house; kitchen and the visitor center. Lots of interesting history to view and listen to, plus the young girl working at the visitor center shared even more about the areas history, and what to see. Wish we could have explored more and seen another museum but we ran out of time. Had to get on the road again… Headed to San Antonio! :)

Shane exploring an old kitchen in Fort Stockton. The floor is gravel and it’s cool and dark. Probably good for keeping things from spoiling in the heat.
