Port Orange, Florida —Ponce Inlet and Daytona International Speedway

We arrived in Port Orange, Florida Thursday February 23rd. I immediately didn’t like the RV park, and I still don’t. It’s old and run down with a train track that runs right behind the park, trains run all hours… they’re insanely loud!

On a good note, I found a place to get a massage and decided to try a hymilan salt stone massage. It was wonderful, so relaxing!!! I highly recommend trying one. Once I was finished, Shane and I got lunch from Panera, yum! And then we found a great dog park for the dogs to play-in, and socialize. Afterwards, we decided to explore the beach front areas close to Port Orange, where we’re staying.

We stumbled upon Ponce Inlet while looking for a dog friendly beach. We thought we’d get to drive onto the beach in Daytona. Since we weren’t seeing anything, we headed for a lighthouse that was supposed to be close by. That’s when we discovered a park with a river area for dogs. FYY, There are no beach’s that allow dogs in Daytona. The pet friendly Inlet was really pretty though! The dogs had a blast getting their paws wet and playing. It was mid-day and hot so we didn’t last too long because of the heat.

We returned a second time a couple days later for another walk. It was in the upper eighties and really windy but a warm wind, which isn’t so bad. We will definitely take a few more walks there before we leave.

Ponce Lighthouse

My cousin, Barb sent us some links to check out, the link  below has some cool information and an interesting history timeline for the Ponce Inlet. Enjoy!

Ponce Inlet
Town History:  1513 -2020

A few cool houses along the beach, and a couple random pictures of the area..

Lots of birds 🐦

Loved the huge condo balconies. They’re like outdoor living rooms with ocean views!

Afterwards, we decided to find Dayton International Speedway. Barb also sent us an informational link, thought we’d share it with you too!

Shane got a visitor for Daytona Bike week, his friend Doren flew in from Oregon to hangout. I spent a couple nights in a nice hotel and hung out with my cousin, Barb.
