West Yellowstone, Gardiner, Bozeman, Montana

We drove to the Montana side of Yellowstone, this is called West Yellowstone, and the closest town is Gardiner. The cute little town that had an old west look to it. We had lunch at a restaurant called Iron Horse which had the same old west vibe. We sat outside as to enjoy the view, it was a little windy but pleasantly warm. The menu was limited, mostly beef, and a brisket sandwich was definitely not a good choice for me, but Shane enjoyed it!

We drove from the town of Gardiner through South Glastonbury and Livingston, then Emigrant and finally arrived in Bozeman, Montana, where we spent the night. We didn’t have time to explore it much but the drive was beautiful and well worth it. 

We headed back to Yellowstone the next morning. The weather changed to light rain by the time we got there, but it stayed light until we finished our last day exploring the rest of Yellowstone. 

I was glad we got to take a little journey from Yellowstone through a good part of Montana to see Bozeman. I would love to see more of Montana someday, it is so Vast and Beautiful.

We arrived in Port Orange, Florida Thursday February 23rd. I immediately didn’t like the RV park, and I still don’t. It’s old and run down with a train track that runs right behind the park, trains run all hours… they’re insanely loud! On a good note, I found a place to get a massage and decided to try a hymilan salt stone massage. It was wonderful, so relaxing!!! I highly recommend trying one. Afterwards, we decided to explore the beach front areas close to Port Orange, where we’re staying.  We stumbled upon Ponce Inlet while looking for a dog friendly beach.We thought we’d get to drive onto the beach in Daytona. Washington, DC

Our time in Washington, DC was spectacular!! We made two full day visits, but could have easily spent a week and still probably not have seen everything. There is so much to see and even though most everything is free, you need to request timed tickets to enter many of the museums and the Capitol in advance. Thirty days if you want to get timed tickets to the Washington Monument, which takes people up to the top viewing area, which is supposed to be spectacular. Six weeks or more to visit the White House and you need to go through your congressman. So plan your trip in advance if you want to see inside any of these places.  We took a trolley tour on our first visit. I highly suggest this when visiting a large city with lots of attractions. We were able to get a better idea of what was there and where it was located so that the next day out we’d be able to navigate our route and manage our time properly. Wyoming Territorial Jail - Laramie, Wyoming

 This old Jail held a famous inmate, Butch Cassidy. The history was very interesting. We were able to tour not only the prison, but the broom manufacturing building where the inmates worked and replicas of a town, that included a church and cabin. They also had a large collection of old cars and farm machinery. We were both surprised by the amount of historical information and the amount of exhibits.
