Salem Massachusetts - The House of Seven Gables
The House of Seven Gables was the setting of world renowned Author Nathaniel Hawthorne’s 1851 novel.
The house was originally built in 1668. The house was built near the harbor by Captain John Turner. I attached a link below with the history of the house. It was considered a colonial mansion. The seven gables of the house is were it got it’s unique name and mansion status.

There was a movie made based on the book “ House Of Seven Gables” in 1940. Vincent Price was in this movie. Link below 👇

Oldest rooms in the house were in the center, since they added on through out the years, until they had the seven gables. It was dark wood and brick, with very narrow winding staircases.

Unique Furniture: Baby Crib and Chair/Table Note: all furniture was small, especially chairs.
Fireplaces were huge and each floor had one for heat —they were in the center of the home, going straight up to three floors, generally.
