Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Portsmouth, New Hampshire, est. 1623 Celebrating 400 years this summer.

Another historic, super cute port town. I think I enjoy these places the most. The big cities are filled with history and things to do and see, but they are busy and crowded, and sometimes, not relaxing at all. The small harbor or beach towns are always enjoyable, even if they’re a little crowded, the vibe is different.

We had a great walk around town, browsed around the Marketplace, and found a good sized dog park for the dogs to enjoy —though they sniff more than they play. We had a late lunch at a place called Book & Bar, it was partially filled with books —pretty cool! You generally see the combo with a coffee shop. We sat outside and enjoyed a good lunch. The dogs were welcome there, as they are at most outdoor venues, and they enjoyed some fresh water and a few of Shane’s fries. Overall, a very nice day.
