Niagara Falls, New York

Niagara Falls, New York has been a very enjoyable visit. We’ve had wonderful weather, generally upper 60’s and lower 70’s. We have had five days to explore the area. We had time to cross the border to Canada on Mother’s Day to see that side of Niagara Falls. I didn’t feel the power from the Canada side, but did enjoy seeing it and the parks , as well as the walk along the Niagara Falls river walk.

We enjoyed seeing the cave of the winds, which is 175 feet below the surface of the Falls. The elevator ride was only 30 seconds. We wore rain ponchos to keep dry but our shoes got soaked and the hoods kept blowing off our heads so my hair got soaked too. It was worth it to experience being underneath Niagara Falls.

We got to view a film on the history on Niagara Falls, and it was surprisingly informative. We had no idea that the initial inhabitants of the area almost destroyed it. It was polluted by factories and people with no regard for its natural beauty. I’m attaching an informative link below, its really is interesting. We learned a lot about Tesla’s technology and the difference he made by using the power of nature to create hydroelectric energy, without damaging the environment. Extremely fascinating history. I hope you enjoy the links, videos and pictures below.
