St. Augustine, Florida
St. Augustine was a two day trip for us. The first day we had the dogs and we explored the beach and the second day we found doggie daycare so we could spend a day exploring. We decided to take a trolley so that we’d get a better look at everything and the history of the area.
St. Augustine is the first place inhabited by Spanish settlers. The date they arrived was 1565. The natives were already here and they had their life’s disrupted greatly when settles began arriving and fighting for their land. We visited the fountain of youth which had a great display of the tribes history. I’ve attached some pictures of the huts they lived in and tools they used. It was impressive to see how efficient they were. We also drank from the fountain of youth which is a spring that runs through the area. More info in the link I’m attaching.
Here is a great link that tells the history of St Augustine
