We made it to Savannah Georgia!
                            
                      Beautiful Fountain and Park




We explored Savannah, Georgia today. It was a perfect day, around 60 degrees, which is good for walking outside all day. We had the dogs so we started by walking towards the fountain and through the historic neighborhood on the way there. We had lunch at a restaurant called Treylor Park Hitch, we both enjoyed it, the service was great and the food was delicious. The dogs were with us and enjoyed all the attention they were getting from people everywhere we went. They’ve gotten so friendly, they’ll  let most anyone pet them, this has developed over time on the road. 

We drove through the waterfront area which was really quaint. It was too crowded for walking the dogs, but we got to see everything by driving through the cobblestone streets. We decided to explore an old cemetery that was dog friendly, it was a 100 acres, so we definitely got more walking in and exhausted ourselves and the dogs. I’ll attach a link to the cemetery, it’s pretty interesting if you visit Savannah, I’d highly recommend checking it out. I attached a few pictures. The trees were huge and unique. The headstones were old and interesting.

Port Orange, Florida —Ponce Inlet and Daytona International Speedway

We arrived in Port Orange, Florida Thursday February 23rd. I immediately didn’t like the RV park, and I still don’t. It’s old and run down with a train track that runs right behind the park, trains run all hours… they’re insanely loud! On a good note, I found a place to get a massage and decided to try a hymilan salt stone massage. It was wonderful, so relaxing!!! I highly recommend trying one. Once I was finished, Shane and I got lunch from Panera, yum! And then we found a great dog park for the dogs to play-in, and socialize. Afterwards, we decided to explore the beach front areas close to Port Orange, where we’re staying.  We stumbled upon Ponce Inlet while looking for a dog friendly beach.We thought we’d get to drive onto the beach in Daytona. Since we weren’t seeing anything, we headed for a lighthouse that was supposed to be close by. That’s when we discovered a park with a river area for dogs. Washington, DC

Our time in Washington, DC was spectacular!! We made two full day visits, but could have easily spent a week and still probably not have seen everything. There is so much to see and even though most everything is free, you need to request timed tickets to enter many of the museums and the Capitol in advance. Thirty days if you want to get timed tickets to the Washington Monument, which takes people up to the top viewing area, which is supposed to be spectacular. Six weeks or more to visit the White House and you need to go through your congressman. So plan your trip in advance if you want to see inside any of these places.  We took a trolley tour on our first visit. I highly suggest this when visiting a large city with lots of attractions. We were able to get a better idea of what was there and where it was located so that the next day out we’d be able to navigate our route and manage our time properly. Wyoming Territorial Jail - Laramie, Wyoming

 This old Jail held a famous inmate, Butch Cassidy. The history was very interesting. We were able to tour not only the prison, but the broom manufacturing building where the inmates worked and replicas of a town, that included a church and cabin. They also had a large collection of old cars and farm machinery. We were both surprised by the amount of historical information and the amount of exhibits.
