Jekyll Island, Georgia

We visited Jekyll Island in Georgia. It was a beautiful place, though the water on the beach was muddy looking. The temperature was around 75 degrees, with only a light breeze, perfect for walking on the beach. We walked for about 90 minutes on the beach, then found a restaurant that was dog friendly. We ate outside and enjoyed crab cakes and delicious key lime pie.

Afterwards, we explored more of  the island. We started with the historic downtown area. Many old homes and a few other interesting buildings. We went looking for the oldest structure on the island, which was built in 1675. It was just a shell but was pretty cool, there was a small cemetery across the road from it that was  just as old.

We drove to the south point of the island to view another historic site.

This area had a monument to those that where brought to the island as slaves, it was informative but really  disturbing and sad. I added a couple videos of the area.
