Farewell Bend, Ontario Oregon

Farewell, Bend. This was our last stop in Oregon before going into Idaho. Unfortunately, fires started in Idaho and we had to reroute. You can see some of the Haze from the fires In these pictures. It is very hot here, it was pretty in its own way to hot and baron for me, I prefer more trees.

 This is part of the Oregon Historic trail, located on the snake River. We went into Idaho to visit my son, Aaron and his wife, Kalae and her family. And our little granddaughter, Mabel Lou. They were visiting her parents so our timing was great!They live on the snake river, 
in Marsing, Idaho so we got a different view

Port Orange, Florida —Ponce Inlet and Daytona International Speedway

We arrived in Port Orange, Florida Thursday February 23rd. I immediately didn’t like the RV park, and I still don’t. It’s old and run down with a train track that runs right behind the park, trains run all hours… they’re insanely loud! On a good note, I found a place to get a massage and decided to try a hymilan salt stone massage. It was wonderful, so relaxing!!! I highly recommend trying one. Once I was finished, Shane and I got lunch from Panera, yum! And then we found a great dog park for the dogs to play-in, and socialize. Afterwards, we decided to explore the beach front areas close to Port Orange, where we’re staying.  We stumbled upon Ponce Inlet while looking for a dog friendly beach.We thought we’d get to drive onto the beach in Daytona. Since we weren’t seeing anything, we headed for a lighthouse that was supposed to be close by. That’s when we discovered a park with a river area for dogs. Washington, DC

Our time in Washington, DC was spectacular!! We made two full day visits, but could have easily spent a week and still probably not have seen everything. There is so much to see and even though most everything is free, you need to request timed tickets to enter many of the museums and the Capitol in advance. Thirty days if you want to get timed tickets to the Washington Monument, which takes people up to the top viewing area, which is supposed to be spectacular. Six weeks or more to visit the White House and you need to go through your congressman. So plan your trip in advance if you want to see inside any of these places.  We took a trolley tour on our first visit. I highly suggest this when visiting a large city with lots of attractions. We were able to get a better idea of what was there and where it was located so that the next day out we’d be able to navigate our route and manage our time properly. Wyoming Territorial Jail - Laramie, Wyoming

 This old Jail held a famous inmate, Butch Cassidy. The history was very interesting. We were able to tour not only the prison, but the broom manufacturing building where the inmates worked and replicas of a town, that included a church and cabin. They also had a large collection of old cars and farm machinery. We were both surprised by the amount of historical information and the amount of exhibits.
